2014 program cancelation
We have met with Mt. Ashland officials and have jointly decided that the possibility of having a successful after school ski/boarding education program this year is not possible. Mt Ashland has released our checks and we will begin the process of refunding payments to participants.
This does not mean Mt Ashland is not planning to open!
This means our after school ski program is not happening.
Mt. Ashland may still open.
The refunds will be returned by mail with a letter of explanation. Not wanting to incur more costs, this process will not be conducted by paid staff, but by volunteers, which will make the process slightly longer. Having never before done this, we expect to have all refunds mailed out within the next 3 weeks. There are a lot of participants.
Thanks in advance for your patience.
We are also aware that some of you know where Dan and Donna work, along with their work or personal contact information. We ask that you do not independently contact them via these means since it is disruptive to their work. Be patient we are going to work through this as quickly as possible. If you would like to contact us for some reason, please use our ski program e-mail.
Absolutely no refunds after December 10, 2013. Ski areas operate at the mercy of the weather, and makeup days for the school group may or may not be available. Mt. Ashland , your group, and participating families each take on financial risks associated with the ski area offering pre-paid, programs that could be canceled due to acts of God. If the ski area closes before the group arrives on the mountain, Mt. Ashland management will work with group leaders to schedule the makeup day or determine some other kind of alternative arrangement. If, for whatever extenuating circumstance, a school group is unable to visit Mt. Ashland, but the ski area remains open for business, Mt. Ashland will not be responsible for issuing a makeup day or credit. However, Mt. Ashland will review each situation with the group leaders on a group-by-group basis to determine whether it might be able to provide an alternative solution. Credit may be issued if a student is unable to attend the program due to medical circumstances. Doctor’s notes will be required for all absences due to injury or sickness. No credit will be issued to students who are unable to attend the program due to disciplinary actions or schedule conflicts, either related or unrelated to Mt. Ashland activities.
